Climate policy analysis for the low carbon transition.
Based at the University of Exeter – home to over 1500 world-leading climate researchers and initiatives like the Global Systems Systems Institute and Green Futures Solutions – Exeter Climate Policy brings together leading economists, social scientists and systems thinkers to understand how public policy can shape a low carbon future.
The unit makes use of novel economic approaches, drawing from the latest research and models in complexity economics, public policy, macro-financial analysis, innovation scholarship, social science and climate science – capturing the opportunities of the low carbon transition.
With collaboration at our core, we help our partners develop policy solutions – specific to their country – to enable a low carbon transition that is fair, resilient, and effective.
Our experts have worked on leading programmes, from the UK government’s EEIST to the World Bank’s C3A, providing independent economic analysis with an adaptive, demand-driven approach that informs low carbon decision making. We also develop fundamental knowledge and methods that enable stakeholders to build capacity and develop a deeper understanding of what makes resilient zero-carbon economic development.
Exeter Climate Policy is supported by Green Futures Solutions, the University of Exeter’s initiative for connecting business with climate expertise, insights, and solutions to drive sustainable change.
